I designed search results components that help people find the latest hyperlocal news from a diverse range of sources and follow news stories as they unfold. I created triggering logic to ensure that components were scalable across all queries, contexts and use cases.

Microsoft OneNote

I explored ways to unify the note-taking experience across the Microsoft ecosystem, designed OneNote integrations in other Microsoft products and redesigned the organization of notebooks on the homepage of the OneNote app.

I worked with the OneNote team to create Highlight Reel, a mobile companion application that provides an interactive video experience. Students can study effectively while on the go by downloading lecture videos for offline viewing, highlighting sections of a video and selectively playing highlighted content.

Highlight Reel was piloted with 500 students at the University of British Columbia. This project was the Microsoft Hackathon 2017 Executive Challenge Winner.

Zense

Product Designer

Zense is a suite of passive sensors that monitor and alleviate risks in the home for individuals with early-stage Alzheimer's disease. It empowers patients to stay at home longer and alleviates the worries of caregivers in a way that is convenient and non-intrusive.

This project was awarded first place and $5000 at Innovation on Board. Zense was also awarded $5000 for the best use of Internet of Things at the Dempsey Startup Competition.

Minerva

Minerva is a digital mining information system that uses mesh networks and wearable technology to encourage communication across the value chain. It improves mining safety and increases efficiency.

Hootsuite Campaign

Marketing Strategist

Our goal was to make the path to social media easier for B2B companies. Our marketing strategy contains three parts: training programs that familiarize teams with social media, an implementation experience that integrates Hootsuite within a company's existing tech ecosystem and ROI tools that help convert lead generations into revenue growth.

FoodShare

Product Designer
Sept 2016 ⁠– Apr 2017
FoodShare is an iOS application that aims to reduce food waste by connecting individuals in need of accessible food options with stores and restaurants that have excess meals. Stores can upload food listings to FoodShare and people can request to pick these meals up.  

FoodShare has attained investment funding, been asked to appear on ABC Network's Shark Tank and has been linked to six incubators and accelerators in Toronto.

My team created a campaign called The Confidence to Play Outside to promote the grand opening of Arc'teryx's new store. Our strategy was to attract recreational athletes by positioning the Atom SL as a versatile jacket that can be worn while engaging in any activity and under any condition.

Gitterdun

Product Designer

Gitterdun is a Chrome extension that encourages productivity through the addition of a social network component and the implementation of the Pomodoro Technique. Users can manage their to-do list, lock their social media for 25-minute intervals, and develop productivity streaks with friends.

This project won first place at ProtoHack 2017.
